The Haw-Medlar, Aka ×Crataemespilus Grandiflora
I don't know how I missed this when it was posted close a twelvemonth ago. It's a spontaneous hybrid betwixt a medlar in addition to a hawthorn.
Haw-medlar identified inwards Worcestershire (Joan Morgan's Fruit Forum)
So produce you lot blet this thing?
I've truly seen "Crataegomespilus" to a greater extent than than "Crataemespilus". The Great Arbiter, Google, shows a few to a greater extent than hits for the former, only a fair total of both.
(I'm really disappointed inwards the spell-checker inwards this Flock editor—It flags both "medlar" in addition to "blet" equally misspellings.)
Update: Nevermind...I figured it out:
×Crataemespilus = truthful hybrid of Crataegus in addition to Mespilus
+Crategomespilus = graft hybrid chimera of Crataegus in addition to Mespilus
Graft hybrids are cool.
